Craft Fair in Moody

I've been busily creating things for a craft fair that will be held on Friday evening, November 12th, from 7 - 9 p.m. and Saturday, November 13th, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Community Presbyterian Church in Moody. I'll be bringing greeting cards, altered notebooks of various kinds, purses, baby blankets, and little girls' dresses. I'll post some pictures of the items on this blog soon!

Oo la la! My second purse! :)

I fell in love with this fabric when I saw it on the internet . . . and here's the result! I've already started to cut out another purse from part of my fabric stash that I've had for awhile, but this one was a new acquisition. :) I suppose it was calling to me . . . and I knew what I was going to use it for when I ordered it!

This is a simple purse with a shoulder strap and a lined interior. The purse closes with a top zipper. I really liked the way it turned out! :)

My first purse! :)

This was a bit of an adventure, although once I'd figured it out, it wasn't all that difficult. I suppose if I'd used a pattern instead of figuring it all out from scratch, it might have been easier, but I suppose it's that independent streak coming out. :)

The purse is made of a polyester material that really has a suede appearance. I've used this fabric before; I made a pirate vest for one of my children when he was the Pirate King in the Pirates of Penzance production some years ago. I had some extra fabric on hand and I thought it'd make an interesting purse, and I was right!

The purse is lined and has a zipper on the inside as well as the out. The strap is adjustable.

I've already begun planning and designing my next project(s)! :)

Embossed, stitched, and pretty . . .

I've been having so much fun with my new embossing folder and my little birdie punch! Lots of stitching went into these cards, and they were time-consuming to create, but they were also fun!

Thinking of You card

It's been awhile since I posted a card! I have created several, but I've been having camera issues . . . well, downloading issues, to be more precise.

But I did download at least one picture! Here's a card I've created using a retired Stampin' Up! stamp set called Artfully Asian. I've got this card up for sale on Etsy right now as a set of 6 under the username ReformedSinger. :) The supplies are all Stampin' Up!, and I used the Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, and Naturals White combination. The flower image was inked with markers, then watercolored with a wet brush. The card front was also spritzed with an Old Olive marker. How do you like it? :)

Here's another card I created using the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set, a Stampin' Up! 1 3/4 round punch, a Stampin' Up! Scallop Punch, the Occasional Quotes stamp set, and some Early Espresso 1/8" taffeta ribbon. All of the flowers and leaves were heart images that I stamped and then cut out. See how versatile this set is? The colors I used were Marina Mist, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, More Mustard, So Saffron, and Early Espresso. The Marina Mist cardstock was lightly embossed using the Stampin' Up! Big Shot Sizzix Texturz Small Dots plate and then sponged with Stampin' Up! Marina Mist ink. The ribbon was stitched onto the cardstock before the rest of the card was assembled. Lots of fun to make!
